Baptisms (Christenings)

There is no difference between a christening service and a baptism service. During a christening, you or your child will be baptised with water.

Baptism is the start of an amazing journey of faith. On the day that somebody is baptised, they will be filled with new life, freed from sin and welcomed into God’s family.  It is a special day for friends and family too.

You can always be baptised or have your child baptised in your parish church, and it’s good to develop a local connection so that your church family is close by.

When you call the parish office, we will have a chat with you about which Sundays are available for baptism. After that, you’ll meet the vicar to talk through the meaning of baptism, look at what the service involves and help answer any questions you may have.

There is no charge for a service of baptism/christening.
